This update includes upcoming traffic impacts and other status notifications, as well as construction progress and planned work for the next few weeks for the Santa Fe and Mineral Improvements project in Arapahoe County.
Upcoming Traffic Impacts: Starting in mid-April, the right shoulder on southbound Santa Fe Drive (US Highway 85) will be closed 24/7 for access to the work zone.
In addition, starting later this month or in early May, work will begin on Mineral Avenue west of the Santa Fe intersection, with some traffic impacts expected. A notification will be sent out once dates are confirmed.
Cancelled Traffic Shifts on Santa Fe Drive: The previously scheduled traffic shifts and reduced alignments in both directions of Santa Fe Drive have been cancelled. A notification will be sent out with any changes to the schedule.
Since the last update, crews have made significant progress fine grading and forming and pouring curb and gutter for the new quad roadway extension of Platte River Parkway in the southwest quadrant of the project limits. Other work included forming and pouring the toe wall for the concrete box culvert; placing concrete pipe and inlets for the new drainage system; installing electrical conduit; and excavating adjacent areas.
Planned work on the new quad roadway over the next few weeks includes continued forming and pouring concrete curb and gutter; forming sidewalks; installing median covers; and concrete and asphalt paving. Other scheduled activities sitewide include drilling light pole caissons, installing electrical conduit, and placing concrete storm drainage pipe and inlet structures.
